The
story of how Phat Lemur came to be begins in a quiet, relatively unknown
rainforest near the small town of Omemee. A lemur was enjoying his freedom
bouncing and climbing to his heart’s content when he was suddenly captured
by a couple of smugglers who sought to make a profit selling the lemur
to a Zoo. The smugglers were en route to Toronto to sell the lemur when
the lemur escaped by biting the hand of one of the would-be profiteers.
The lemur found himself in the suburb of Rexdale, (“Inhale;
Exhale. Big up, Rexdale.”). The lemur
immediately found himself some clothes, (a hat, sunglasses, baggy jeans,
gold chains, etc.), and disguised himself.
It was shortly thereafter that the lemur met up with Duce
and 2 Dogs.
The three reached an agreement that the lemur would become the mascot for
their fledgling production company while Duce
and 2 Dogs
would offer sanctuary from the Zoo in return.
And so began the legacy that is Phat Lemur Productions...
