Phat
Lemur was founded in the year 2000 by Duce
and 2 Dogs.
The original project of Phat Lemur Productions, (which is still yet to
be completed), was to be an animated short called Brisbone
and Teeton. The first actual project
was a film produced by 2 Dogs
and Duce
called Gods of the Rink.
This film was shortly followed by another film called Minimum
Wage which was produced by the newest
member of the company; Shaggy.
Both films were subsequently entered into the 2001 Champlain College Film
Festival held annually at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
Both films were honoured with awards at the festival within their designated
categories. (Incidentally, Phat Lemur also produced the Introduction to
the film festival.)
Phat Lemur has since expanded to include three new members who will also
take the company in new directions. Angelus
will
be heading the Web Design and Software Development branch, G
will be contributing in the creative writing and consulting fields, while
Double
J will be the head of the Art and
Artwork departments.
Together these 6 members have thus began the beginning of something that
had already begun...
